Alternative Encounters is a relaxed, no-pressure social mixer for the wonderfully weird, running as part of Strange Sundays Alternative Market. Whether you’re goth, punk, metal, industrial, emo, alternative, steampunk, witchy, rockabilly, geeky or simply not your average human, this is your chance to meet people the old-fashioned way… in person.

🌹 Grab a free black rose from the white rose wearing Event Emissaries on the day to let others know you’re taking part… when your’e ready to!

💌 𝗙𝗮𝗻𝗰𝘆 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗼𝗼 𝘀𝗵𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗮𝘆 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼? 𝗪𝗲’𝘃𝗲 𝗴𝗼𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂.
If they’re also wearing a black rose, write them an anonymous handwritten note on one of the notepads available on your table, and hand it to one of the Event Emissaries, who’ll be easy to spot wearing white roses. They’ll discreetly deliver your message.
If your mystery recipient wants to reply, they’ll simply write a note back. Our white rose admins will act as your go-between, passing messages back and forth until you’re both ready to meet face-to-face… or not. No pressure, no awkward interruptions.
Ladies always make the first move by sending the first note, and from there the conversation unfolds one message at a time. 🖤
